TV Show Review: Person of Interest

A mellow conversation. A Punch. A Kick. Pull out a weapon and… shoot him in the kneecaps. Yeah, that’s the magnificent strategy and signature of the awesome vigilante John Reese.

Jim Caviezel as John Reese

Despite the fact that the TV show Person of Interest had ran its course, ending last year of 2016, late ole’ me had clicked play on Season 1 Episode 1 and instantly fell in love.

Who would ever know that my love for DC Comics and Marvel superheroes would be satisfied by watching this show. Created by Jonathan Nolan and with an amazing cast staring Jim Caviezel, Taraji P. Henson, Michael Emerson, and Kevin Chapman, Person of Interest dives into the slow yet fast pace, action pact, vigilante theme that echoes Batman in so many ways.

It all begins with a presumed dead ex-CIA agent named John Reese resurfacing into the spotlight. He is recruited by a mysterious man in spectacles named Harold Finch to redeem his past of operative killings to save people. How these people are chosen, you must watch the show to see how. No Spoilers here! *Evil Laugh.*

The talented Taraji (Joss Carter) comes into the picture as a well-respected NYPD Homicide Detective who has one mission and that is to catch this mysterious vigilante whom the media comes to call “The Man in the Suit.” Secrecy pops up a lot in these episodes, especially when it comes to the humorous Lionel Fusco (Kevin Chapman) who has a lot of them and our intelligent friend Finch (Michael Emerson) who can hack into almost anything. I don’t think I would like to cross him in any way, just saying.

Let’s just say from the time episode 1 ended, I was hooked. If you like sly, witty, mellow talk with an icing of combat fighting skills then you will love John Reese. Choosing Jim Caviezel who played the sociopathic warden in Escape Plan, was a great choice. If you love to be shocked by twists and almost have minor heart attacks by the carefully planned out fight choreography (applause to the choreography crew) then this show would be great for you.

If you are interested or I have peeked your interest check it out on Netflix. All of the seasons are on it and I and my family are so happy about this. Oh did I forget to tell you that I have a knack for getting my family interested in action-pact shows like this? Well, if you check it out, ENJOY but beware… You are being watched….

I have definitely added Person of Interest to my Watch-List. What do you think of this show? Have you seen it? Would you check it out? Do you have any shows you would like to recommend?
