Walking Bones – a poem
How can people do that? How can they walk right pass you And don’t speak? Even when I say hello, how’re you doing? They just look at me Am I a ghost or in some form of Invisibility? I know I may not mean nothing to you But if I A simple girl Have the proper decency to Give you notice, To give you some form of existence Then why can’t you Show some in return? What have I done to you? I wake up in the morning- -Thank you Jesus- And start my day with a smile Across my face New h

Poem – The Jesus Time
You ask and wait For that moment when all you’ve asked comes. You seek and still seek Until all hope seems to be gone. You knock until your hand bleeds you think no one is home. But remember our time is not His time. He did pour out his blessings upon you. But you must be patient keep praying keep asking keep seeking keep knocking because when that time comes you probably would not notice until after you’ve finished smiling. Then you’d know that he had answered not when y

Writing Is Fun… But It’s Tough
Right now, I have a few works-in-progress despite everyone telling me to focus on one. However, I cannot help it , but I decided to listen! Recently, I self-published my new adult fantasy book, The Fairest , which I’ve been working on since 2017. And also for my MFA program, I wrote, created, and designed my psychological thriller of short short stories titled Stuck (released on May 14, 2022). And from these experiences, I’ve learned the ins and outs on self-publishing a b

Stay Encouraged in the Lord
Scripture: 1 Peter 5:8, Psalm 121, Hebrews 13:5, 2 Timothy 1:7, Isaiah 41:10, John 14:1 Today we are facing a global pandemic on the top of the rise of violence, hardships in our lives, in our health, in our families, and even in our jobs. There are so many factors that play a role to discourage us, make us lose hope and a sense of dignity, and to forget we can be happy in a time of trouble. The one to blame for this is known as the adversary, the devil. The devil wants to b

Remember to Say Thank You
Manners. Everyone knows what this word means. Manners are the proper things you learn while growing up that render respect and courtesy towards people. Majority of us in the world do grow up with parents or guardians or supporters who teach us these aspects but many aren’t. But it’s never too late to learn! Saying thank you is also important when it comes to God. The only difference is that when saying thank you to people, it is a physical/social connection. While saying than

The Power of P.R.A.Y.E.R
P-eace And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint ( Luke 18:1 ). Prayer brings natural and spiritual peace. When you’re placing your trust in God you are increasing your faith because you have decided to put worldly and manly trust aside to lay everything in God’s hand. Jesus said to always pray and you will not faint. Trouble and hardships may come your way, but Jesus promised to take them all away. He is your refuge and yo

Music Review: When We Pray by Tauren Wells
When we pray, things do change. I recently stumbled across this song When We Pray by Tauren Wells (2017) despite hearing it multiple times on the radio. It is one of those songs that will last forever like the song Jesus Loves Me and many others. When the church starts praying, things do change. I enjoy the message related in this song. It’s uplifting and encouraging, letting people know that when you pray and place all of your trust in Jesus, things do happen. We are l

Song Review: Saturate Us
Saturate Us sung by Bishop Andrew Merriitt and The Straight Gate Mass Choir (2015) is a beautiful song of praise to God. It’s a song of plea, asking God to shower the world with his love, mercy, and power. In these days and times we need God to replenish his people with strength and faith to get through these troublesome times. So much is going on and it’s important for everyone to remember to give Jesus all of our praise and thanks. When I first heard this song, it played o

I Love Gospel Music
While most people enjoy music of rap, R&B, country, and so on, I prefer the sweet messages from gospel music. Listening to gospel music throughout my hectic days of work and school reassures my faith. It keeps me moving in times of boredom and despair. Gospel music highlighting the amazing power of God and the saving grace of Jesus Christ reminds me that I am not alone. My closest friend dwells nearby, protecting me, guiding me, loving me, and treating me with more respect th

Song Review: A Messiach Hebrew Song
This song is called “Adonai Adonienu.” It is written by David Loden and sung by a chorus. They are an amazing bunch. This song is the translated version of Psalm 8. So far I only know the chorus by heart, but I shall learn more! Translation (only the scripture version not the song)- Psalm 8 O Lord, our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens. 2 Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thi

Sight & Sound: Moses
I go insane whenever someone brings up Sight and Sound. If you don’t know what this is then let me tell you now. It is a theatre located in Philadelphia and Ohio where they do religious musicals on people in the Bible. Not only is it captivating with their cast of up to 100 but its soothing with their uplifting songs. Their voices are amazing as well as their acting. Just imagine “the Bible coming to life” and you’re right there to see it happen! This is why I get so excited.
